Each year volunteer Louisiana teachers with the National Writing Project gather to judge nearly 1,000 entries in the areas of English or French fiction, nonfiction or poetry in the Louisiana Writes! contest.
The contest is open to all students in Louisiana schools. The finalists are judged by Louisiana authors.
St. Rose Elementary School had four winners in the contest. Winners are Bradley Hubbard, second place nonfiction and first-place fiction; Saniya Abbas, second-place fiction; and Connor Finell, third-place nonfiction.
