Man stabbed Saturday in French Quarter
A 30-year-old man was stabbed in the French Quarter about 7:20 a.m. Saturday, police said.
A man and a woman followed the victim to Bourbon and Iberville streets, where the two men got into a fight, according to Officer Garry Flot.
Flot said the woman struck the victim from behind and stabbed him with a sharp object. He was treated at a local hospital.
Police said the victim knew the man who fought with him but didn’t know the woman.
Man, woman robbed at gunpoint in Gentilly
A man and a woman were robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning in Gentilly, New Orleans police said.
The woman, 37, and the man, 44, were at Hope and Republic streets about 1:30 a.m. when two men pointed a gun at them and demanded their property.
The woman handed over her purse, and the two men fled.
Police seek suspect in robbery on Canal Street
New Orleans police are asking for help finding a suspect in a robbery Saturday morning on Canal Street.
A 42-year-old man was walking near Canal and Bourbon streets about 7 a.m. when a man came up to him and asked for money.
According to Officer Garry Flot, an NOPD spokesman, the victim continued to walk until the man grabbed him and struck him repeatedly, forcing him to the ground. The robber then took his wallet and ran, Flot said.
The suspect is described as a white man about 5-foot-8 and between 150 and 170 pounds. He had a thin beard, a mustache, a black goatee and green eyes.
Victim identified in Friday night killing
The Coroner’s Office on Sunday identified a woman who was shot to death Friday night in a silver car at Baronne and Second streets.
Jaunice Shine, 24, died from a gunshot wound, Coroner Jeffrey Rouse said.
Shine was found dead about 11:35 p.m. Friday when police answered a call about a car crash. A 17-year-old also was in the vehicle, which had crashed into a parked car.
The youth died later at Interim LSU Hospital. His identity has not been released.
Pedestrian killed in car crash in LaPlace
A 63-year-old pedestrian was killed in a fatal crash Saturday night on Airline Highway in LaPlace, according to State Police.
David Curtis, of LaPlace, was walking north in the right lane of U.S. 61 near Tiffany Drive when he was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Impala, according to Trooper Melissa Matey. The car struck Curtis just before 9 p.m. He died at the scene.
LaPlace resident Darrell Edwards, 36, was driving the Impala.
The accident remains under investigation. Neither impairment nor speed seemed to be a factor, Matey said, but Edwards submitted to a blood test.
Toxicology results for Curtis are pending an autopsy.
Man shot Sunday in Central City
A man was shot Sunday afternoon in Central City, New Orleans police said.
Officers responded to a call in the 2400 block of South Roman Street about 2:30 p.m.
The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
Police seeking masked robber of corner store
The New Orleans Police Department is asking the public to help it find a man wanted for an armed robbery Friday night at a Discount Corner Store in Uptown.
The man rode a red beach cruiser bicycle to the store in the 8700 block of South Claiborne Avenue about 11 p.m., police said. He pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money, then climbed over the counter and grabbed the cash before fleeing on his bicycle.
Police are looking for a 6-foot, 175-pound black man who was wearing a white mask that completely covered his face, a camouflaged army jacket with a hood, black pants and black shoes.
Detectives said he may be responsible for several armed robberies.

Woman shoots another woman in 7th Ward
A woman was shot by another woman she knew in the 7th Ward early Sunday morning, New Orleans police said.
A female driver pulled up to the 26-year-old victim and opened fire.
The shooting happened about 3:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Villere Street.
