With the help of Craigslist and one honest young girl, a Monroe couple found their lost wedding ring just in time for Valentine’s Day, according to a report.
On Saturday, Bushra Hamdani and her husband, Mumtaz, took their children to the Audubon Zoo. After leaving the restroom, she realized that she had lost her wedding ring, WWL-TV reported.
Alexis Pike, 14, who was also visiting the zoo that day, found the ring later in the bathroom.
"So I turned to my mom and I said, ‘we need to turn this is in or find whoever it was,” Alexis told WWL. “But really I was thinking like wow…I want to keep this and everything, but I knew we had to do the right thing.”
After leaving the zoo feeling defeated, Mumtaz Hamdani decided to post a message on Craigslist, explaining the situation and asking anyone with information to reach out to him. When Alexis’ dad, Alvin Pike, searched Google later, he found the Craigslist message.
"I was just completely speechless, it was miracle for me, I went and woke up my wife right away," Mumtaz Hamdani told WWL.
The Hamdanis drove to Covington the next day, where the Pikes returned the ring, giving the couple a Valentine's Day they’ll never forget.
"We just started celebrating and were so happy, and I told her happy Valentine's Day," Mumtaz Hamdani said.
