Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a single-car crash that killed a Hahnville teenager last week.

St. Charles Parish sheriff’s deputies found Bailee Winters partially ejected from an overturned vehicle about 2 a.m. June 29 on River Park Drive. Winters was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fredrick Jackson, 17, of New Orleans, was the driver of the vehicle and left the scene after the accident, St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne said in a news release. Jackson was arrested Friday and booked on counts of negligent homicide and reckless operation.

Bailey Picou, 17, of Luling, was a passenger in the vehicle and also left the scene following the incident, Champagne said. Picou was arrested June 30 and booked as an accessory to negligent homicide.
