The funeral for slain New Orleans Police Officer Daryle Holloway has been scheduled for Saturday.
A Mass will be said at 11 a.m. at St. Maria Goretti Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., according to family members. Visitation will begin at 7 a.m.
After the Mass, Holloway will be buried in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 near Bayou St. John.
Family members held a prayer memorial for the man they remembered as a caring cop and devoted father on Tuesday night at 2020 Kerlerec St. in the 7th Ward.
Holloway, 45, was killed Saturday while transporting domestic violence suspect Travis Boys to Orleans Parish Prison’s Central Lockup. His death spurred a citywide manhunt that resulted in Boys’ arrest 24 hours later.
Boys has been booked on multiple counts, including first-degree murder of a police officer. He is being held without bail.
