Three separate shootings sent three people to the hospital on Monday and Tuesday in New Orleans.
A man and a woman were arguing on the 8500 block of Spruce Street Uptown around 8:14 a.m. when the woman produced a gun and shot him. The 21-year-old victim received a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the body, police said.
Another shooting was reported Monday night in the 12000 block of North Interstate 10 Service Road in New Orleans East, not far from where police previously reported a shooting that wounded one man in the Chenault Creek apartment complex.
In this incident, a woman was stopped when an unknown person walked up to her vehicle and opened fire. The 21-year-old woman was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. No word was immediately available on her condition.
The night claimed another gunshot victim at around 2:18 a.m. near the corner of Louisa and Benefit streets in the Upper Ninth Ward. A 15-year-old boy was joy-riding in his mother’s vehicle — which he had borrowed without permission — when an unknown man walked up to him and pointed a gun. When the teen tried to flee the man opened fire on him, wounding him.
