Representatives of the Orleans Parish Assessor’s Office are available to review valuations for the 2015 tax year from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 15, at three locations: the fourth floor of City Hall, 1300 Perdido St.; the Algiers Courthouse, 225 Morgan St.; and the second floor of the Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur De Lis Drive.

No appointments are necessary; individuals will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Individuals who disagree with their valuation should submit documentation to support their claim, including a recent appraisal, a builder’s contract, photos or casualty insurance coverage of the property.

If a property owner is unable to come to one of the three office locations, they may file an online appeal at www.nolaassessor.com. This online service requires the same documentation, but there are benefits of filing online, which include:

Real-time appeal status. The property owner can see the up-to-date status of the appeal at any time of day or night. If there is more than one appeal, the filer can easily see status details from one screen.

Communicate with the Assessor’s Office on your schedule. The filer can ask questions and provide information to the Orleans Parish Assessor’s Office on his or her schedule. The filer must upload supporting files such as documents, photos, PDFs or emails.

Safety and security. All communications are strictly confidential and secure. The Resolution Center is accessible from any computer or mobile device, with the filer’s unique user name and password.

All formal appeals to the Board of Review must be submitted by 4 p.m. Aug. 20.
