‘Love Taps’ hits stage this weekend _lowres

Toe tapping will be only a part of the dance theater production of “Love Taps: An Evening of Romance and Rhythm,” taking the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at NOCCA’s Nims Black Box Theatre, 2800 Chartres St., New Orleans. It’s tap dancing, along with live music in a cabaret setting.

Under the direction of Emmy Award- and three-time Big Easy Award-winning artistic director and principal choreographer Heidi Malnar, the original production pairs Malnar with leading female New Orleans artists Ainsley Matich, founder of local band Ainsley Matich and The Broken Blues, as the musical director and renowned Boutte family member Arséne Delay as the lead vocalist.

The show will delve into love, budding romance, grief, friendship and hope. Tickets are $18 and up.
