Now that the smoldering summer afternoons are behind us, it is the perfect time of year to get together with family and friends for Movies in the Park. The fall series of NORDC’s family-friendly outdoor movies continues at a playground near you from September through Nov. 21. The line-up includes the New Orleans-inspired “The Princess and the Frog” and other animated features. Most of the movies are hosted by the playground’s booster club or community organization.

The movies start at sunset (about 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.), but movie watchers are invited to arrive early to enjoy fun fitness activities, such as hooping and Zumba, led by Fit NOLA Parks instructors. Picnics are welcome, and there will also be concessions available for purchase.
