Metairie-based accounting and business consulting firm LaPorte CPAs and Business Advisors has completed its acquisition of Houma’s Beyer, Stagni and Co.

LaPorte president and CEO William Mason said Tuesday the deal puts LaPorte’s staff at 180 people, with revenue of $26 million. The combined firm will operate as LaPorte.

Beyer Stagni’s Houma office will become LaPorte’s fifth location, joining existing offices in Baton Rouge, Covington, Metairie and Houston, Texas.

Mason said the arrangement “allows LaPorte to expand our geographic footprint along the Gulf Coast and to increase the reach of our services to clients with locations in Louisiana and Texas.”

Under the deal, Beyer Stagni principals Roy Beyer, Arthur Stagni, Pam Fremen and Jodie Arceneaux will become directors in LaPorte.

LaPorte’s principal clients are industry groups, including construction, energy, financial services, health care, law firm services, nonprofits and real estate.

“This merger means LaPorte has expanded our geographic footprint along the Gulf Coast and increased the reach of our services to clients with locations in Louisiana and Texas,” Mason said. “Beyer Stagni’s location in the heart of Louisiana’s oil and gas region and as Houma’s largest local firm increases our ability to serve existing Tri-Parish clients in Terrebonne, Lafourche and St. Mary parishes and to build on that client base.”
