• DELGADO SHOW: The Visual Communication-Graphic Design show featuring student work ranging from freshman to senior levels runs through March 17 at the Isaac Delgado Fine Arts Gallery on the City Park Campus of Delgado Community College. Their work includes hand illustration, digital illustration, photography, typography and graphic design layout. The gallery is at 615 City Park Ave. in New Orleans, Building 1, third floor. Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. There will be a closing reception from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 17.
  • UNIVERSITY OF NEW ORLEANS: In recognition of National Engineers Week on Feb. 21-27, Entergy’s transmission business unit is donating $100,000 to enhance electrical engineering courses at the University of New Orleans. Charles Rice and Jim Schott, of Entergy, were to present the Entergy Energy Conversion Lab gift to university officials at the Feb. 25 New Orleans Pelicans vs. Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game. In the lab, students will receive hands-on experience with power equipment such as transformers and rotating electrical machinery. They will use detailed wiring diagrams to connect machines to power sources, loads and meters, performing experiments that demonstrate operational and loading characteristics. UNO currently offers the only civil, electrical and mechanical engineering programs in the New Orleans area.
