When police arrived on the scene of a Sunday evening stabbing in Algiers, they found a victim crouched over a table, companions putting pressure on the stab wound in her back.
That woman was one of three wounded on the 1400 block of Sumner Street in Algiers after a fight between neighbors spun out of control and sent the women to the hospital with knife wounds, according to Officer Juan Barnes, a spokesman for New Orleans police.
Police were dispatched to the scene at 6:37 p.m. The three women said they had had an encounter with their neighbors that turned physical. Then someone brought out a knife, and all the women were cut. Another victim received what police described as a “severe” wound to her left hand.
Police have booked Tyre Barnes, 46, and Terrence Anderson, 44, for aggravated battery.
