A 35-year-old man told New Orleans police he was abducted from a downtown bus stop Saturday, and was beaten and robbed before he was released blocks away, according to an NOPD weekend crime round-up.

The victim told police he was at a bus stop at Tulane Avenue and North Robertson Street when about 6:25 a.m., two men forced him into a car and fled to the 9200 block of Airline Drive, according to NOPD. The suspects fled the scene.

The incident was among numerous crimes NOPD investigated during the weekend through Sunday morning.

In New Orleans East, the NOPD investigated the aggravated burglary of a home in the 6000 block of Downman Road. A 37-year-old woman reported a friend named Allie entered her home through a window about 3:30 p.m., after she wouldn’t answer the door.

Allie told her that her boyfriend was at the front door, and when the victim opened it, an unknown man pushed his way inside demanding money, police said. He ransacked her home, taking cash, her purse, prescription pain medication and the cable television box, police said.

Also in eastern New Orleans, a 23-year-old woman reported being cut by her boyfriend while in the 5100 block of Bundy Road about 4:15 p.m., police said. The woman said he grabbed a knife, leading her to lock herself in a bathroom. When her brother arrived, he dropped that knife but grabbed another one before cutting her and fleeing, according to the report.

In Hollygrove about 9:40 p.m., Saturday, a 48-year-old man was shot near Gen. Ogden and Marks streets, police said. The man was standing outside talking with friends when shots were fired. The man ran into a store there and collapsed before he was driven to a hospital. Details about his condition were not released.

In Gentilly, a 20-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man reported being robbed about 10:10 p.m., police said. The victims were at Paris Avenue and Pleasure Street when two males approached them from behind, brandished a gun and took their car keys, police said. The suspects fled with the vehicle.

In the 7th Ward, meanwhile, three people were robbed inside a

residence in the 1300 block of Marigny Street, police said. Two women, ages 34 and 43, and a 40-year-old man were reported that two unknown men with guns forced their way inside the location about 10:40 p.m., and demanded money. The victims complied, and the suspects fled, police said.

In the French Quarter, a 55-year-old man was robbed about 2 a.m., at North Rampart and St. Louis streets, police said. The man reported that two males armed with a knife approached him, demanded his wallet and fled

NOPD also investigating a aggravated burglary that occurred bout 2:20

a.m., in Treme. A 33-year-old woman was closing her front door in the 1200 block of North Prieur Street, when a man with a hood over his head forced his way inside and demanded money, police said. During an altercation, he struck her in the head several times with a pipe, took her wallet and fled, police said.

In Central City, meanwhile, NOPD investigated an armed robbery that occurred about 3:30 a.m., at South Claiborne Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A 21-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man were sitting at a business at the intersection when two armed men demanded their property, police said. The victims complied, and the suspects fled.
