A man robbed a woman of her purse Friday afternoon in Algiers, New Orleans police said.

The unknown robber walked up behind the 49-year-old victim about 1:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Valentine Court and pointed a gun at her after she refused to give him her purse, according to an overnight police log.

The victim then handed over her bag, and the robber ran away.

Lower 9th Ward man robbed inside home

A robber armed with a gun forced a man into the man’s home and robbed him late Friday in the Lower 9th Ward.

The victim was leaving his home in the 6100 block of Dauphine Street about 9:45 p.m. when the robber, who wore a mask, walked up and forced the 30-year-old victim back inside, police said.

Once inside the home, the robber demanded the victim’s money. He fled after he got it, police said.

Two rob man of cash, car on edge of CBD

Two men robbed another man early Saturday morning on the edge of the Central Business District.

The incident happened about 5:45 a.m. near South Saratoga Street and Tulane Avenue.

The victim told police that he met a man on Bourbon Street and later took him for a drive.

The victim said that when they arrived at the corner of Saratoga and Tulane, a friend of the unknown man walked up to the car, pulled out a gun and forced the victim to hand over his money and surrender his car.

The robbers drove away west on Tulane Avenue and then in an unknown direction.

Both men were described as black and of average height and build. They wore white shirts with collars and blue jeans.

The car they stole is a maroon 2007 Nissan Murano with a temporary license plate.
