SHABBAT ART TIME: The Jewish Babies Club will host a workshop with art therapist Dixie Moore at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Jewish Community Day School, first floor, at 3747 West Esplanade in Metairie. Moore will lead babies and parents in a playdough-inspired Shabbat art experience that is designed to develop baby’s fine motor skills.

The club, for babies age 3 and under, meets one Friday a month. The next event is Shabbat Shalom-a-long Dec. 19 with Deborah Mintz. For information, call Lauren Ungar at (225) 572-0043 or email lungar@ jcdsnola.com.

TEN COMMANDMENTS HIKE: The Southeast Louisiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America will hold its 11th annual Ten Commandments Hike in Uptown New Orleans on Nov. 28.

This interfaith hike, sponsored by the National Jewish Committee on Scouting, combines elements of reverence to God and physical fitness. Typically, this is the only event in which elements of the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of the USA participate jointly. However, it is open to the public.

The hike begins this year at the new Btesh Family Chabad House, 7037 Freret St., before moving on to South Carrollton and St. Charles avenues. Along the way, the Ten Commandments will be revealed at each stop.

Registration is $12, which includes a commemorative patch, commemorative water bottle, lunch and a streetcar token for the return trip home.

To register, visit the Southeast Louisiana BSA website at www.bsa-selacouncil.org.
