Homicide detectives in Jefferson and Orleans parishes on Tuesday morning were investigating three separate killings, including the death of a man who passed away at the hospital late Monday night after being shot on the edge of Central City.

One man was killed and another was wounded during a shooting about 2 a.m. in the 5900 block of Becker Street in Marrero, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said. The surviving victim was brought to Interim LSU Public Hospital in New Orleans to be treated. His condition was unknown.

In New Orleans, a 37-year-old man died after someone shot him about 7 a.m. near the corner of Music and North Villere streets, police said.

Officers responding to a call of a man shot found the victim on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his head, said officer Garry Flot, a Police Department spokesman. The victim, identified by the Orleans Parish coroner’s office as Chancellor Atlow, died on the scene.

Late Monday night a man who was shot on the edge of Central City died at Interim LSU Public Hospital from wounds he suffered during a shooting hours earlier.

The victim, whose identity was not known Tuesday morning, was shot about 7 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of Louisiana Avenue, police said. He died about 11:20 p.m. from a gunshot wound to the chest, said John Gagliano, the Orleans Parish coroner’s chief investigator.

Authorities have not released any information on a suspect or motive in any of the cases.
