The New Orleans Police Department says it has obtained warrants for the arrest of two men in connection with the fatal shooting Sunday of Arthur Victor, 34.

Dewing “Dwayne” Alveris, 26, and Dolhman “DJ” Brown Jr., 29, are each wanted on a count of second-degree murder. Police allege they shot Victor shortly before 1 a.m. at a residence in the 4200 block of Hamilton Street, near the New Orleans Country Club.

Police said the victim answered a knock at the door for a man who gave his name as “Wayne.” That men then opened fire, hitting Victor several times, according to an offense log. When 3rd District officers arrived on the scene, police said, they found Victor inside the living room unresponsive. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Alveris and Brown were identified as suspects through “citizen participation,” according to NOPD.

Police have asked anyone with information on the men’s whereabouts to call Detective Ryan Vaught at (504) 658-5300.
