John Curtis Christian School is continuing its participation this year with Operation Christmas Child, a Samaritan’s Purse project.

Through Operation Christmas Child last year, children in more than 100 countries received 9.8 million shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toiletries, socks, toys and hard candy. Of those shoeboxes, 8,066 came from the New Orleans area.

This year’s national shoebox collection drive will be Nov. 17-24. Filled shoeboxes may be dropped off at these locations:

  • Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 2825 Paris Road, Chalmette

  • Fellowship Bible Church, 4600 Clearview Parkway, Metairie
  • Munholland United Methodist Church, 1201 Metairie Road, Metairie
  • New Orleans Baptist Seminary, 3939 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans
  • John Curtis Christian, 10125 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge
  • Thompson Road Baptist Church, 59008 La. 433, Slidell
  • First Baptist Church, 703 Avenue B, Westwego
