Second Bridge City escapee recaptured
The second of two teenagers who escaped early Friday morning from the Bridge City Center for Youth was recaptured Sunday, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Col. John Fortunato said.
He said Rashad Seals, 16, of Plaquemine, was located and arrested in Baton Rouge.
Seals and Riynell Nixon, 15, of New Orleans, escaped from the state-run detention center. Nixon was turned in by family members Saturday.
Seals had been incarcerated on six counts of residential burglary, according to Fortunato. He was born and raised in Iberville Parish.
A bomb scare occurred early Sunday morning in Algiers, police said.
A woman called the complaint desk about 1:30 a.m. and stated there was a “bomb threat” but didn’t give a specific location. After her cell phone was pinged in the 3500 block of Garden Oaks Drive, emergency personnel and the Fire Department were called out as a precaution. Buses were also rerouted, police said.
No bomb was discovered.
