A man who was brought to the hospital in critical condition after being wounded last week during a drive-by shooting in Algiers has died from his injuries, the Orleans Parish coroner’s office said.

Christopher Petty, 30, of Harvey was one of three people shot about 7 p.m. on Oct. 23 near Copernicus Street and Mardi Gras Boulevard.

He died about 5 p.m. Saturday at Interim LSU Public Hospital from his injuries, said John Gagliano, the coroner’s chief investigator.

Willie Boudreaux, 31, was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time after the shooting. A 14-year-old girl was treated for a gunshot wound to her leg.

Witnesses told police that a silver late-model vehicle pulled up alongside the victims’ car and someone in it opened fire before speeding away.

Police have not identified a suspect or motive.

Homicide Detective Joe Jefferson is leading the investigation.
