Two men were shot near Mojo’s Bar on Cleary Avenue in Metairie early Wednesday, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Officers responded about 2:10 a.m. to shots fired in the 2900 block of Cleary, JPSO spokesman Glen Boyd said. A large crowd had gathered in the parking lot, and officers found a number of spent casings, he said.

About 20 minutes later, officials at East Jefferson General Hospital reported a man had entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was then transferred to Interim LSU Hospital in New Orleans for further treatment of a wound to the chest and neck, Boyd said. The man, identified as Darren Dedeaux, 22, of Kenner, had been shot near Mojo’s, Boyd said.

About 4:20 a.m., another victim was treated at the Ochsner Medical Center emergency room for a gunshot wound to his hand, Boyd said. He was identified as Dintrell C. Jolla, 24, address unknown.

In all, one business, two apartments and three vehicles were hit by gunfire on Cleary, Boyd said.

Four people shot in N.O. over two nights

A man was shot to death and a woman was wounded Wednesday night in the 5100 block of Lakeview Court in New Orleans East; two men had been shot late Tuesday night in the 5200 block, police said.

The woman was shot inside a house and taken to the hospital. No further details on Wednesday’s shootings were immediately available.

An argument during a party in the 5200 block of Lakeview Court resulted in two men being shot multiple times each Tuesday night, police said.

About 11:45 p.m., several people became involved in a verbal altercation in the driveway of a house, according to police. Witnesses told police that a man then began shooting.

Two men, both 18, were taken to the hospital and treated for multiple gunshot wounds.

Armed robbery occurs Tuesday in Algiers

A 63-year-old man was robbed Tuesday evening in Algiers.

Two men approached the victim in the 6400 block of Medlock Street about 6 p.m. and pointed a gun at his head. The victim gave them his cellphone and wallet, and they fled.

Man robbed Monday on Marigny Street

Two young men staged an armed robbery Monday afternoon in the 900 block of Marigny Street, police said.

About 1:30 p.m., the 31-year-old victim was approached from behind by the men, ages about 18 to 20, who pointed a handgun at him and demanded his property. He handed over his iPhone, cash and cigarettes.

The robbers then fled.
