Calvin Moret, the last known Louisiana-born member of the Tuskegee Airmen, was laid to rest Friday in New Orleans. The Tuskegee Airmen were the U.S. Army’s first African-American military aviators, serving in World War II. Moret’s Mass was said at Corpus Christi-Epiphany Catholic Church, followed by a procession to St. Louis Cemetery No. 3.
