A teenager sought by New Orleans police in connection with an attempted sexual assault Wednesday in New Orleans East has been arrested, police said Friday night.

NOPD spokesman Tyler Gamble said detectives have identified the youth, known on the streets as “White Boy,” as 17-year-old Jeremiah Mills.

He said Mills is in police custody and will be booked on counts of attempted aggravated rape and armed robbery.

Police said Mills tried to sexually assault a 21-year-old woman about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 8600 block of Castle Court. They said he produced a pistol and tried to assault the victim in an alleyway, but she was able to escape and called for the police.
