The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify a man and a woman, possibly named “Dominique,” who may have information about a shooting that happened Friday in Central City.

A 28-year-old woman was shot near South Liberty and Saint Andrew streets about 8 p.m. When officers arrived, they learned that the victim was shot to the lower backside area and transported to the hospital via EMS. The woman is currently recovering from the injury she sustained during the shooting.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that “Dominique” and another man were involved in a fight at the location right before the victim was shot. “Dominique” may have called unknowns subjects to the location, police said.

The man sought arrived in a red or maroon colored Nissan Altima with tinted windows. Both “Dominique” and the unknown man are believed to be from the Algiers area.

Police said the two are not currently suspects, but are just persons of interest.
