A severe storm smacked parts of metro New Orleans on Wednesday, knocking out power to thousands of homes and dropping golf ball-sized hail.
The severe weather also briefly closed parts of the Causeway Bridge.
By 5:15 p.m., Entergy reported that nearly 5,380 customers had lost power in Jefferson Parish and 660 customers in New Orleans. Click here to track power outages.
A 60-mph wind was reported at New Orleans' Armstrong International airport around 4:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
