Women dressed as men rob two in N.O. East

Two women dressed like men robbed two teenagers Saturday night in New Orleans East, police said.

The robbery happened about 7:10 p.m. in the 8400 block of Curran Road.

The unknown robbers pointed a gun at the victims, both 17-year-olds, and demanded their belongings. The women then ran away.

Police did not provide a description of the robbers.

Police: Woman stabbed boyfriend during fight

A woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend during a fight Saturday night in New Orleans East, police said.

Celisha Elder, 25, was booked with aggravated battery after the incident.

The 23-year-old victim and Elder began to argue about 7:30 p.m. in the 6700 block of Bundy Road. Elder pulled out a knife during the argument and cut him, police said.

The victim was treated at Tulane Medical Center and released.

Gunfire wounds two in separate shootings

Two men were wounded Sunday night during separate shootings, New Orleans police said.

The first shooting was reported about 9:45 p.m. in the 3600 block of Havana Street in Gentilly.

Two people approached the 41-year-old victim, who was inside a vehicle, and opened fire, police said. He was shot multiple times.

Police said the second victim was shot a few minutes later in the 1800 block of Numa Street in Algiers. He was shot in the abdomen.

Police did not provide information on either man’s condition.

Man robs teen of Xbox during burglary Sunday

An armed man robbed a 7th Ward teenager of his Xbox on Sunday afternoon during a burglary.

Police said the 16-year-old victim was inside his home in the 2900 block of Pauger Street about 2 p.m. when he opened the door to speak to a friend.

A man armed with two guns walked up to the home and forced his way inside, grabbing the game system and running away.

Police did not provide a description of the burglar.

Girl, 12, reports being raped in Uptown

A 12-year-old girl was the victim of a rape early Monday, New Orleans police said.

The incident occurred a little after midnight in the 2300 block of Valence Street in Uptown.

No other details were available, and police have not announced an arrest in the case.

Coroner IDs men killed in separate shootings

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office on Monday identified two men who were fatally wounded during separate shootings in recent days.

Charles Dailey, 37, of New Orleans, died about 1 p.m. Friday on the steps of a home in the 1700 block of Mandeville Street, said John Gagliano, the coroner’s chief investigator.

El’jerome Coombs, 34, died about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Interim LSU Hospital. He was shot just after midnight near Dryades and Seventh streets, Gagliano said.

Police have not identified a suspect or motive in either case.
