A man suspected of a murder in Algiers in May was arrested Sunday and is being held on $1,002,500 bail.
Police believe Cornin Wellington Sr., 24, killed 26-year-old Aaron Bannister in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive on May 23. Officers found Bannister shot several times on the second floor of an apartment complex.
Wellington was booked on a count of second-degree murder.
Authorities last year sought him as a person of interest who might have information about the September 2014 shooting of 26-year-old Shandon Barnes, also in Algiers. He was never formally accused of that killing.
