You'll soon be able to make left turns on Tulane Avenue. Finally.

The road will be reduced from six to four lanes as part of a $4.8 million project spearheaded by the Louisiana Department of Transportation, WWL-TV reports.

The project also will include the creation of a neutral ground and bike lanes.

DOTD spokesperson Bambi Hall says the lane reduction is part of an initiative to improve urban areas.

The changes will be between South Claiborne and South Carrolton avenues. Work is expected to be done in early 2016.
