Leonel Melendez, the New Orleans native missing after the mass shooting in Orlando Sunday, is alive but in a coma, a close friend said Monday morning, adding that Melendez was shot in the leg and the head.

A New Orleans native is among those still missing after an early morning massacre at an Orlando gay nightclub Sunday, according to a report.

Leonel Melendez, 39, was at the Pulse Orlando club at the time of the shooting that left 50 dead, according to Fox 8.
