Armed robbers confronted three people near the Tulane University campus Tuesday night.

The three thieves came upon a 22-year-old man and two women, ages 21 and 20, about 9:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Pine Street.

The robbers took the man’s wallet and fled on foot toward Willow Street, according to Tulane and police reports.

One of the suspects was described as a 5-foot-9 man armed with a handgun, with dreadlocks and dark clothing wearing a red bandana around his head. Another man was described as 5-foot-11, wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun.

A separate armed robbery took place in the 2200 block of Decatur Street in Faubourg Marigny about 3:30 a.m. Two men with a gun approached two men and took some of their property, authorities said.
