Smoothie King partnered with Crescent City Connections, a local volunteer management nonprofit, to host a company-community day that encouraged team-building and supported the local community through Smoothie King’s mission to inspire healthy and active lifestyles.
The day kicked off at Smoothie King’s annual Smoothie King Franchise Conference held yearly in New Orleans.
Volunteers worked at the Tad Gormley Stadium on several projects to improve stadium safety, including painting the stairs with a bright yellow color to increase visibility.
Volunteers also helped revitalize Couturie Forest by mulching forest trails, removing invasive weed stalks with loppers and performing other forest maintenance jobs. The Couturie Forest is maintained entirely by volunteers.
“From Smoothie King’s first store in Kenner to this volunteer day in New Orleans, Smoothie King has continued to show a dedication and investment in this community,” said Teddy Nathan, executive director of the Crescent City Connections.
