Hello Class: President and CEO of Entergy New Orleans Charles Rice and his wife, Vonda, threw a party at their home in English Turn for students from New Orleans who will be attending Howard University in Washington as freshmen in the fall.

Camera Ready: Sixty-one teams of actors, writers, editors and camera people raced to create 7-minute films in 48 hours for the 48 Hour Film Project, then basked in the spotlight of their premieres at the World War II Museum’s Solomon Victory Theater.

A Five-Star Gala: The Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation Gala, “Five Star Futures,” was held in the Grand Ballroom of The Hilton Riverside. Mike Rodrigue, Lucien Gunter and Paul Rotner of Acme Oyster House were named Restaurateurs of the Year.

Catering to the Needy: The 19th annual Welliver Productions Bridal Expo benefit for Second Harvest Food Bank has raised literally tons of food over the years during the summer when the Food Bank is especially in need.
