Two shot Sunday in Jefferson Parish

Two men were injured in separate shootings Sunday in Jefferson Parish, according to records from the parish 911 headquarters.

The first shooting occurred around noon, when a man was shot at Ames Boulevard and Russell Drive in Marrero. His injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

A second man was shot about 3 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Village Green Street in Harvey. His injuries also were not life-threatening, authorities said.

Man robbed Sunday morning in Metairie

A 44-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning in Metairie, according to records from Jefferson Parish 911 headquarters.

The incident happened about 12:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of Hessmer Avenue.

The man was not injured.

Westwego dollar store robbed Sunday

A dollar store in Westwego was robbed at gunpoint Sunday afternoon, according to records from Jefferson Parish 911 headquarters.

The robbery happened about 3 p.m. in the 8900 block of the West Bank Expressway.

There were no injuries.

Kenner man dies in crash on I-10 Sunday

A Kenner man died early Sunday morning after he crashed into a truck while driving his car the wrong way on Interstate 10 in St. John the Baptist Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.

Police said Patrick Sullivan, 54, was driving his 2011 Hyundai Elantra east in the westbound lanes at about 3:30 a.m. when he hit a 2007 International truck driven by Glen Lampton, 30, of New Orleans. The crash happened near mile post 201.

Sullivan was transported to St. James Hospital, where he later died, according to State Police.

Lampton suffered minor injuries but refused aid at the scene.

State Police investigators suspect that Sullivan was under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the crash. They do not believe that Lampton was impaired. Toxicology tests will be performed by the State Police Crime Lab.
