A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for the following parishes until 7 p.m.: Ascension, East Baton Rouge, Livingston and Iberville.

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issues for the following parishes until 8 p.m.: Avoyelles, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, St. Helena, St. Landry, Tangipahoa, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana, St. Tammany, St. John the Baptist and Washington.

Update, 11:45 a.m.:

Weather service now says 'enhanced risk' of severe weather in areas north of I-10, includiing thunderstorms and large hail.

Rain remains in the forecast for Friday and into Saturday, when chances drop to 40 percent and temperatures drop into the upper 60s for the high and lower 40s for the overnight low.
