Two women -- ages 18 and 19 -- were robbed in Uptown New Orleans on Thursday afternoon, according to New Orleans police.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Freret and Cherokee streets, about three blocks from Tulane University's campus.

According to preliminary police information, the two women were approached by a man who demanded their property. The victims complied, and the robber fled.
