The facilities at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans were evacuated at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday after an unknown caller telephoned the hospital witha bomb threat.

A man called the hospital and said that he was angry about the hiring of immigrants, according to police. He also said that he had placed a bomb in the building’s elevator shaft.

The facilities -- including the site at 2000 Tulane Ave., which is under construction -- were evacuated and the buildings were checked.

Nothing suspicious was found in any of the hospital’s locations.
