Woman wanted in theft of $900 in 2014

A 39-year-old woman is wanted by New Orleans police for allegedly stealing money from a former employer.

On Dec. 3, police said, Michelle Bufkin used a key that she stole from another employee to take $900 from a safe at Audubon Dermatology in the 3500 block of Prytania Street, where she worked at the time.

Bufkin did not have authorization to enter the safe and was fired when her boss heard about the incident.

Detectives said Bufkin tried to fabricate a patient bill to cover up the money she stole.

Anyone knowing her whereabouts is asked to contact 6th District Detective Tierney Clay at (504) 658-6060 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
