Clown mask can't hide robbery suspects from the St. Bernard Sheriff's Office _lowres

A clown mask

A ghoulish clown mask jogged a St. Bernard sheriff’s deputy’s memory on Monday night, leading to the arrest of four men for armed robbery.

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s office said Lt. Leander Morgan had just arrested four 18-year-olds — Jaleel Sino of Violet, Jack Tucker and twin brothers Jarred and Darrien St. Romain, all of Meraux — for disturbing the peace when he spotted the mask. A picture supplied by the office shows the devilish disguise was bedecked with a clown’s trademark red nose, a green mohawk, a sinister arched eyebrow, and the international symbol for anarchy.

Morgan remembered that a mask of a similar description was reportedly used by a suspect in an April 11 robbery. In that case, the band of robbers forced a pedestrian to hand over money and snacks at gunpoint. The robbery victim was called in and identified the four men as the robbers, police said.
