The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday it had arrested a third man suspected of involvement in an April shooting in Harvey that killed one man and left another wounded.

Col. John Fortunato said a Crimestoppers tipster identified Avondale resident Dashawn Butler, 21, as one of the shooters involved in the April 7 killing of Stacie Johnson, 21, on Clover Lane in Harvey. Butler was arrested Tuesday.

Fortunato said Butler admitted to being in the area with the other suspects who have been arrested, Javontae Simmons and Dorian Lonzo, but denied involvement in the shooting.

Butler was booked on second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
