Nisika West, 36, of Kenner, was charged in a six-count indictment Friday with theft of public money and aggravated identity theft, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.

According to the indictment, West stole money from the Treasury Department by using stolen identities to obtain federal tax refunds between March and May 2012.

If convicted, she faces a maximum of 36 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 and restitution.
