Durrell Golman

A Marrero man was arrested by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s office in connection with a shooting in Harvey that sent another man to University Medical Center in critical condition.

Deputies believe Durrell Golman, 20, shot Treon Florence, 22, near the intersection of Scottsdale and Glasgow drives in Harvey at around 6:45 p.m.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Col. John Fortunato said Golman was the passenger in a white Chevrolet Impala that pulled in front of Florence’s car, forcing him and a friend to stop. Golman hopped out of the Impala with a semi-automatic handgun, Fortunato said, and let loose several shots. Then he got back into the car, and he and a getaway driver fled.

Witnesses fingered Golman as the triggerman, according to JPSO. He was taken into custody without incident at his home, Fortunato said.

Golman was booked on two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He has previously been convicted of possessing a firearm while being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Fortunato said.
