Pop music superstar Beyoncé knows about surprises. And hours before her halftime Superbowl 50 performance, her latest music video is filled with surprises for New Orleans fans.

Though many may recognize the music diva’s signature dance moves and voice, New Orleans residents will see many familiar sights in the “Formation” music video.

Beyoncé opens the music video on top of a New Orleans Police car and her backdrop is a post-Katrina flooded New Orleans.

Showcasing everything from a Mardi Gras indian dancing to New Orleans bounce-music star Big Freedia’s booming voice, the video does not lack a New Orleans flair. Using clips from a New Orleans filmed documentary “That B.E.A.T.” the music video also highlights shotgun homes and dancers throughout the city.
