Kenner police looking for hit-and-run vehicle
Kenner police are looking for a newer-model black SUV that they said hit a 5-year-old girl Monday evening.
The child was struck about 6 p.m. at Hans Avenue and Taffy Drive, according to police. Witnesses said the girl was crossing the street when the SUV hit her. The vehicle then accelerated and disappeared eastbound on 34th Street, they said.
The girl was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Bike rider robbed on Esplanade Avenue
A man riding his bike was robbed by three men about noon Tuesday, New Orleans police said.
The 32-year-old cyclist was in the 2500 block of Esplanade Avenue when a vehicle pulled up next to him and three men got out. They took his car keys and fled the scene.
Gun and drugs said found in man’s car
New Orleans police arrested a man during a traffic stop after officers said they found marijuana and a loaded gun in the glove compartment.
Officers said they pulled over a gold Nissan Altima on Downman Road in New Orleans East about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday when they saw it driving erratically. They said the car smelled like marijuana and that Derrick Proctor, 23, admitted he had six grams of marijuana and a 9mm pistol in the glove box.
Proctor was booked on possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics.
Woman sought in French Quarter cutting
New Orleans police are looking for a woman who allegedly cut two people with a broken beer bottle in the French Quarter early Monday.
About 5 a.m., a bartender at the Alibi Bar in the 800 block of Iberville Street asked two women to leave, according to police. When several men tried to intervene, one woman allegedly broke a bottle and cut one of the men. She then went outside, where she hit another man and cut his head before she fled on foot, police said.
Man wanted in stabbing in 7th Ward
New Orleans police are looking for a man who they said stabbed another man Tuesday evening in the 7th Ward.
Donnette Patterson, 32, stabbed the other man and beat him during a fight in the 1700 block of Marais Street about 7 p.m., according to police.
The victim was taken to a hospital.
NOPD: Man arrested with gun, drugs
A Dallas man was arrested Tuesday in the Central Business District with marijuana and a handgun, police said.
About 11 p.m., plainclothes officers were told about suspicious activity in a parking lot at Canal and Tchoupitoulas streets, according to police. When they arrived, they found several men and the smell of marijuana in the air.
The men were detained and searched, and officers found a handgun on Brandon Clark, 30, according to police.
Clark was booked on counts of possession of marijuana and a firearm.
