Two people were shot early on Friday about six blocks apart on Josephine Street.
The woman, a 35-year old, was shot at the 1800 block of Josephine St. at around 1:25 a.m.
The victim was walking when an unkown male suspect approached her with a silver-colored hangun. Upon meeting, the suspect demanded the victim's purse. A brief struggle ensued after the victim refused and shortly after she noticed she was shot. She then relocated to the 1900 block of Josephine Street.
In a separate incident, a 33-year-old male victim shot multiple times at around 2:28 a.m. in the 2400 block of Josephine Street. The suspect is currently unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
Near the intersection of St. Charles and Higgins Street, a male victim was shot at around 4:26 a.m. The 30-year-old victim was approached by an unknown male suspect armed with a handgun who demanded the victim's property.
The suspect, a black man who may have been accompanied by another suspect, fled with the victim's property.
Also, two armed robberies of note occured overnight.
At 11:54 p.m. in the 800 block of the Convention Center, an unknown black man approached the male victim and demanded his wallet. The victim complied and the prepetrator took the cash in the victim's wallet and fled.
At 5:08 a.m. in an unknown location in Dauphine, a victim had a gun pulled on him by three unknown black men. The prepetrators demanded the man's wallet, the victim complied and the three suspects fled with the victim's wallet and cell phone.
