The construction of a champion-caliber golf course in City Park may face another hurdle to get completed as a group plans to file lawsuit to block the building, according to an article from WWL-TV.
The City Park for Everyone Coalition is filing a federal lawsuit against City Park and FEMA in an attempt to stop the construction of a $13 million golf course, the article says.
The lawsuit comes two days after the final person who was protesting the construction of the new course fell from an oak tree and was taken away in an ambulance.
After spending 12 days in an oak tree, a protester identified as Jonathan Lloyd Boover, fell from the tree near the traffic circle on Harrison Avenue and the Old Couturie Forest. The tree was cut down after Boover was removed from the scene.
