Man found dead on street in Algiers
New Orleans police said a man was shot to death Tuesday night in Algiers.
The shooting happened a little after 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of Thayer Street.
Officers arrived to find Michael Darensburg Jr., 36, on the ground, said Dr. Jeff Rouse, the Orleans Parish coroner. He died on the scene from an apparent gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Man shot during fight about phone charger
New Orleans police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a man during an argument about a cellphone charger.
Police said Milton Newman, 32, and the victim got into an argument about the electronic accessory about 4 a.m. Aug. 13 at a home in the 1200 block of Belleville Street in Algiers.
During the argument, police said, Newman threatened to get a gun, then left the home. He returned a short time later and shot the 25-year-old victim, who was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Newman’s last known address was in the 400 block of De Armas Street.

Central City shooting leaves man critical
A man was in critical condition at a hospital after being shot Wednesday afternoon in Central City.
The victim, whose name and age were not provided, was shot about 4:30 p.m. near St. Andrew and South Liberty streets, police said.
No other details were immediately available.
