Four people were robbed at gunpoint in an armed robbery and two carjackings Sunday and Monday morning, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
Shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of South Liberty Street in Central City, police said, a man was parking his vehicle when he was approached by another man with a gun. The robber forced the victim, 56, to turn over his vehicle.
About 9 p.m. in the 7400 block of Eastmore Road in New Orleans East, a man and a woman, ages 33 and 35, were unloading groceries from their trunk. Suddenly, a man came up from behind and forced them to hand over some of their property, police said.
Finally, about 3 a.m. Monday in the 800 block of North Rampart Street near Louis Armstrong Park, a gunman forced a man, 46, out of his car and drove away in the vehicle.
