A 20-year-old man was robbed at knifepoint inside a Phelps Hall dorm room Tuesday night, Tulane police said.

Around 9 p.m., the 20-year-old allowed two men into the dorm room who had visited previously, the Tulane University Police Department said. The suspects asked if the student had drugs to sell, and he replied that he no longer does that, Tulane police said.

The suspects both produced knives and allegedly took a small safe and a cellphone. The suspects then fled the room and were seen entering a dark-colored vehicle and leaving the area.

The victim is affiliated with the university, but the two suspects are not, Tulane police said.

The first suspect is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, clean cut, wearing a navy blue shirt and jeans. The second suspect is described as 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall with a goatee, skinny build, wearing a royal blue shirt and jeans.
