Five men shot Monday on Chef Menteur
Five men, all between the ages of 20 to 60, were shot Monday night in the 6700 block of Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans East.
The shootings occurred just before 8 p.m., said Officer Frank Robertson, a New Orleans Police Department spokesman.
He said two of the victims were transported from the scene by EMS while three arrived at a hospital in private vehicles.
No other information was immediately available.
Police seek man who robbed four Thursday
New Orleans police are asking for assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Thursday near Dauphine and Clouet streets.
Shortly before 11 p.m., a 31-year-old man and three women, ages 23, 25 and 26, were walking on Dauphine when an armed man approached and demanded their property. While he was holding one of the women at gunpoint, the male victim tried to talk to him but was struck on the side of his face with the robber’s gun.
After taking all four victims’ money, credit cards and cellphones, the man fled.
The 31-year-old man was taken to a hospital.
The robber was described as an African-American man, brown to dark complexion, about 6 feet tall and 165 pounds, with a muscular build, unshaven and armed with a dark semi-automatic handgun. He was wearing a white baseball cap with a black bill, a white tank-top undershirt and neon green athletic shorts.
Police released a computer sketch of the man.

Two killed in separate shootings are identified
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has identified two men killed in separate shootings Friday evening.
Shandon Barnes Jr., 26, was shot about 4 p.m. near Flanders and Socrates streets in Algiers. He died at the scene.
Rodney Morris and another man were shot about 7 p.m. in the 5600 block of Charlotte Drive in Gentilly.
Morris, 24, died inside a car. The second victim, a 34-year-old man, was found two blocks away. His injuries were not serious, police said.
Man allegedly stole $9,000 from school
A former employee of ARISE Academy on St. Claude Avenue is accused of stealing more than $9,000 from the school.
A magistrate judge has issued an arrest warrant for Quinton Barrow, 29, on one count of embezzlement.
Barrow allegedly made 45 unauthorized purchases using the school’s debit card between March and June. The school fired him June 17.
According to the warrant, Barrow admitted in text messages that he made the fraudulent purchases.
Two stabbed, cut in separate incidents
Two men were stabbed or cut in separate incidents Sunday night in New Orleans, police said.
The first incident took place about 8:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of Forstall Street in the Lower 9th Ward.
Officers found the victim on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds.
He was being treated at a hospital. His condition was not known.
The second incident happened about 9:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Decatur Street in the French Quarter.
The 43-year-old victim was hit in the face with a bottle and was treated for cuts, police said.
Three men rob woman of keys in N.O. East
Three men robbed a woman of her keys at gunpoint Sunday night in New Orleans East.
The 24-year-old victim was in the 12300 block of the north Interstate 10 service road when the men walked up about 9:15 p.m.
The victim and the men struggled until she screamed, at which time the men ran away with her keys.
Man, 37, shot walking on Central City street
A man was shot Sunday evening as he walked in Central City, New Orleans police said.
The 37-year-old man was on Louisiana Avenue near Loyola Avenue about 7:45 p.m. when he was shot multiple times, police said.
His condition was not available.
