Multiple shootings overnight in New Orleans have left five people injured, according to a New Orleans Police Department press release.

Shortly before 2 a.m., in the 7800 block of Bass Street, a female victim was dropping off her sister when she heard gunshots. The victim sped away in her car, hearing more gunshots, then noticed she was shot.

Another shooting in the 1000 block of Farragut Street left two victims with gunshot wounds. The victims were awakened by 5 or 6 males wearing masks. While perpetrators were ransacking the house, the two victims began to flee the scene. Shots were fired and both victims were hit.

Another shooting was reported in the 3200 block of Garden Oaks, a male victim was injured.

Around 2:45 a.m. a man was approached by an unknown male armed with a gun demanding money. The victim complied but then both men began tousling over the weapon. Several shots were fired and the victim realized he had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital.

The press release did not list any names of the victims or possible suspects.
